Our Beyond 1% campaign aims to inspire more women into construction careers, because only 1% work on the tools, and just around 14% in office-based roles.

The Beyond 1% podcast shines a light on the challenges and rewards of a career in construction. Drawing on the real experiences of some of the most successful women in construction today, this series aims to provide a valuable source of practical information and inspiration to women working on and off site.

In this second episode, our host Nic Errol is joined by Works Manager Beth Bowran, Quantity Surveyor Ellice Ord and Painter and Decorator, Jen Gardiner. Together they openly discuss how they’ve dealt with the gender stereotypes, especially surrounding customer service, difficult conversations, challenging clients, customers and even colleagues.
