Congratulations to those charity and community projects in Birmingham that have been awarded a share of our Hockley Mills community fund via Action Funder.
Sir Robert McAlpine Capital Ventures, through its subsidiary Pitsford Street Limited, are the Developers of 395 new apartments at 33 Pitsford Street in the Jewellery Quarter of Birmingham.
Our client, Legal & General, who will take possession of the project upon completion in 2023, naming it Goodsyard, will manage the apartments in a similar manner to their Whitmore Collection on Charlotte Street, Birmingham. Both companies carry out developments throughout the UK and were keen to support local communities in Birmingham.
Following the 6-week application window, successful submissions were shortlisted, and a judging panel of representatives selected the winning projects.
To make their decisions, the judges focused on the Birmingham projects that helped increase community cohesion whilst boosting wellbeing. They were able to award organisations covering a diversity of themes, including poverty and homelessness, neighbourhood, mental health & wellbeing, as well as education and employment.
Giving back to the communities in which we build is central to living by our values as a family business. I’d like to extend my congratulations to all our awardees who each receive a share of our £10,000 fund.
Chris Lane Development Management Director, Sir Robert McAlpine Capital Ventures
