Congratulations to James Campbell, Student Engineer, who was named “Further Education Student of the Year” at the G4C (Generation4Change) Awards during a virtual ceremony on Friday 23rd October.

The judges noted that James is passionate about the construction industry and his excellent work ethic has led him to be involved in complex, multi-million pound projects. He is strong academically, having received awards from his college, and always keen to participate in STEM and careers events to inspire more young people into the industry.

Trainee Design Manager, Emma Hawkins, was also recognised as an up and coming industry talent as she was Highly Commended in the “Higher Education Student of the Year” category. Emma has been at Sir Robert McAlpine for nearly two years. She has demonstrated great potential as a construction professional, stepping into her role on a challenging scheme, and she has worked hard to be a positive role model.

Phil Langton, Regional Chief Engineer at Sir Robert McAlpine, commented: “What a brilliant result for both Emma and James. Both are developing their careers nicely in the workplace so to see their hard work being rewarded in this way is well deserved.”

The G4C Awards showcase excellence and reward achievement for organisations and individuals who are successfully pushing the industry forward.
