Anti-Slavery Day

As part of our commitment to tackling modern slavery and corruption, we are supporting today’s Anti-Slavery Day.

In support of today's Anti-Slavery Day, we have been raising awareness of modern slavery throughout the week.

While slavery was abolished in the UK in 1833, the exploitation of vulnerable people remains a major problem to this day.

In the UK, victims of modern slavery are subject to trafficking, forced labour, sexual exploitation, and having their freedom of movement restricted.

While 200 years ago slavery was very visible, today it is a hidden crime, with victims continuing to live apparently everyday lives while being controlled and exploited by others.

We are working closely with the Gangmaster and Labour Abuse Authority (GLAA), and some of our industry partners to raise awareness of the issue.
