London Real Estate Forum (LREF) 2023

The programme will cover a wide range of topics and panel discussions that are critical to the success of the industry surrounding this year’s theme “Value”. 

Will Lunn, Work Winning Director at Sir Robert McAlpine, will join a panel of experts to discuss the ways in which partnerships can foster innovation and entrepreneurship as well as examples of infrastructure partnership working for adapting to Climate Change and creating a centre of business for the future which is robust and resilient. 

By sharing innovative approaches and success stories, we can encourage more cross-sector collaboration and lay the groundwork for a more sustainable and equitable future.

About Will Lunn: A chartered civil engineer by background, Will started his career in structural design before moving into construction. An early highlight was a 3-year stint on the 2012 Olympic Park, covering everything from soil stabilisation to fit-out. He’s specialised in preconstruction roles for the last 10 years, and was recently appointed Work Winning Director for SRM’s Commercial and Major Projects divisions. Major Projects delivers complex, large-scale schemes under the intrinsically collaborative Construction Management contract form, and Will’s role sees him working alongside clients, consultants and the supply chain to deliver value-adding, outcome-focused solutions. 

Caroline Mulholland, Client Engagement Lead at Sir Robert McAlpine, will be speaking alongside a panel of industry experts during this session. 

This fast-maturing sector is significantly contributing to the financial growth of the capital as well as investing in long term public / private partnerships. However, sustainable, and flexible design, urban integration and inclusive placemaking remain some of the biggest challenges they face today and into the future.

The successful integration of life sciences infrastructures into the existing urban landscape requires interdisciplinary collaboration between architects, engineers, urban planners, regulatory authorities, and experts in the sector. How can the industry support this collaboration when designing and integrating place-based districts?

About Caroline Mulholland: Caroline joined Sir Robert McAlpine from a background delivering capital projects in the NHS. As Client Engagement Lead, Health Sector, she works with multiple stakeholders during pre-construction, seeing firsthand the challenges and opportunities of interdisciplinary collaboration. The Springfield Village project, providing residential accommodation alongside mental health hospital facilities, is a great example of urban integration and sustainable design, showing what can be successfully delivered through a public / private partnership.
