The theme of the 2021 Conference is highly topical. It focuses on sustainability, in relation to heritage and traditional (pre-1919) buildings, and on dealing with Climate Change.
This year’s virtual conference explores the achievements in sustainable construction within the heritage sector and the future of environmental performance of our heritage and traditional building stock. Speakers from different fields will showcase best practice, retrofit standards, and science and the latest research.
We are delighted that Charlotte Morley, Sustainability Manager within our Special Projects team, is amongst the experts speaking at the event with a talk entitled: "The benefits of adapting historic buildings are clear: how are we making this happen?"
Since graduating from the University of Leeds in 2015 with a BSc (Hons) in Meteorology and Climate Science, Charlotte has worked an array of projects and now specialises in heritage restoration. Charlotte is perfectly positioned to share her experience and insights at the conference.

Charlotte is a Sustainability Manager for Sir Robert McAlpine, overseeing environmental management and sustainability within the Special Projects team. Charlotte specialises in heritage restoration and signature new build construction projects.
As the Royal Albert Hall pauses construction for its 150-year anniversary in 2021, it seems appropriate to reflect on a remarkable programme of works undertaken on this compact but highly visible site.
Sir Robert McAlpine Special Projects have been appointed principal contractor to the St Marylebone Parish Church Changing Lives project in London, that will see the restoration and refurbishment of this Grade I listed building.
