The theme of this year's CIOB Conference is balancing conservation needs against rising costs.
This year's CIOB conference will have a theme of balancing conservation needs against rising costs. The conference, which is in partnership with English Heritage, will look to explore how we protect our built heritage when times are tough and develop new ideas an innovations that can help generate real efficiency.
Speakers from different backgrounds will discuss the contemporary issues that have affected the construction industry and consequently the knock on effects to conservation efforts to historic buildings. Leading experts from the UK and Europe will share examples, experiences and knowledge of different types of historic buildings and the challenges they face in this current economic climate.
Alongside this, a series of case studies will be presented that explore how we can ensure that our built heritage remains fit for future generations. There will also be a representative from Sir Robert McAlpine who will give an in depth look into one of the projects that the Sir Robert McAlpine Special Projects team have been working on.
We are delighted to continue our longstanding relationship with the CIOB and look forward to insightful discussions around such an important contemporary issue.
