All Together Cumbria and Lakes College are happy to announce the return of the Festival of Work 2024 on Thursday 11th July at Lakes College.
A comprehensive showcase of career opportunities in Cumbria.
The Festival of Work is an annual event hosted by All Together Cumbria at Lakes College, in partnership with the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB). This event aims to address skills shortages in the region by showcasing local employment opportunities and pathways to successful careers in the construction, engineering, and nuclear sectors. It offers a dynamic platform for career exploration and skill development.

What's on
During the event we will be sharing information about Sir Robert McAlpine which will cover the impactful projects we have undertaken and are currently undertaking, the sectors we operate within and potential career paths available in construction and engineering. Come and join us to find out more.
- Morning Session (from 9am to 2.30pm):
Exclusively for over 1,000 secondary school students. A great opportunity for businesses to engage with secondary school students to help inspire the next generation across West Cumbria.
- Afternoon Session (from 2.30pm to 5pm):
Open to individuals of all ages and backgrounds looking to progress or change their career path.
The festival will include employer stands to promote vacancies alongside career support organisations and training or education providers. There will also be a programme of interactive workshop sessions to provide an insight into the wide range of careers available and how they can be pursued.
