Managing Director of Transport, Vip Gandhi, named chair of Stamp it Out, an initiative aimed at reducing the abuse faced by roadworkers.
The move by Stamp it Out further strengthens a leadership team fronted by Kevin Robinson as awareness of the issue becomes greater, demands placed upon the organisation have led to an increased need for capacity and expertise.
Speaking about his delight in taking up the role Vip Gandhi said, “The issue of worker abuse has been a challenge for employers over a period of many years and for too long our workforce saw it as just part of the job.
“Through the unbelievable work of a dedicated team Stamp it Out has changed this.
“Only last month the Respect our Workforce week campaign reached over 10 million people and was featured across BBC news channels and even on BBC Breakfast tv, where the presenters were shocked and flabbergasted at some of the real life stories being recounted.
“I am delighted to be able to help the campaign and programme in any way that I can and look forward to getting further involved.”
Vip Gandhi's leadership in the roadworker abuse reduction programme marks a significant step forward in ensuring safer working conditions for roadworkers.
The move also sees us become member of Safer Highways and a partner of Stamp it Out.
