Company joins Grown in Britain task group

The company is supporting a construction sector task group established to devise an action plan to increase demand for timber products from British woodlands and forests.

As a responsible commercial construction company, Sir Robert McAlpine is supporting a construction sector task group established to devise an action plan to increase demand for timber products from British woodlands and forests.

The Grown in Britain scheme was launched in response to the Independent Panel on Forestry Report. Its aim is to create an economically, socially and environmentally viable future for the UK’s forests and woodlands.

Made up of UK Contractors Group ( UKCG) members, the task group will meet over the course of the next few months and will ultimately report back to DEFRA Secretary of State for the Environment Owen Paterson with recommendations.
