Gold at the Corporate Engagement Awards
30 Sep 2022Congratulations to our Brand, Marketing and Communications team who picked up Gold at the Corporate Engagement Awards this week, with our partner, ParalympicsGB.
Congratulations to London Managing Director Alison Cox, who was listed amongst the Top 100 Most Influential Women in Construction for 2022
Alison began her career at Sir Robert McAlpine in 1990 as a sponsored engineering student. She became a project manager in 2002 and has led large teams on major, complex projects, including Bloomberg London and Battersea Power Station Phase 3A. A Chartered Civil Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, Alison was appointed to Sir Robert McAlpine’s Executive Board in 2020. She has been an advocate of inclusion and diversity in construction throughout her career.
As part of her nomination, Alison shared:
"Having spent my whole working life at Sir Robert McAlpine, I’ve experienced most of the challenges construction has to offer. These have included figuring out that everyone else didn’t actually know more than I did; juggling home and work commitments; and re-joining the industry after the nine-year career break raising my family.
"I am fiercely supportive of women who want to work in construction, and mentoring women in our business and supporting female graduate engineers is something I do as much of as I can myself, and I encourage all my teams to do the same."
Congratulations to Alison and the other talented women who are included in this year’s Most Influential Women in Construction list.
