Join Sir Robert McAlpine at this year's London Build Expo. Our speakers include Senior Design Manager, Joanna Kuzelewska and Principal Engineer, Claire Crompton.

London Build Expo is the UK’s leading Construction and Design Show. 

Offering an action-packed two-day event filled with exceptional content, featuring over 500 inspiring speakers spanning 8 conference stages. Attendees can also participate in CPD training workshops, explore 350+ exhibitors, enjoy entertainment, interact with celebrity guests, attend networking parties, experience live music, and much more!

Claire Crompton, Principal Engineer will be part of a panel discussion on the first day of the conference, 15th November at 2pm. The panel will be focused on “Beyond the Binary: Supporting Gender Diversity in the Construction Industry”. Claire is the co-chair of our Gender Equality Network so is very well placed to highlight the work being done on this issue.

On the same day at 5pm Joanna Kuzelewska, Senior Design Manager will be part of a panel discussion on “Inclusive Health and Safety: Addressing the Needs of All of Your Workforce”. Joanna will be joined by speakers from Laing O’Rourke, CIOB and ARCADIS.

  • Joanna Kuzelewska

    Senior Design Manager

    Joanna is a civil engineer with over 20 years of experience in managing design processes, who, throughout her career involvement, is also very familiar with the delivery of complex construction projects.

    Her career highlights include being a key member of the Stadium construction delivery for the London 2012 Olympics. She was also an important participant in the completion of the American Embassy, Olympia West Hall, and many more key London-based schemes.

    Joanna is passionate about equality and assurance that women have their voice and representation in senior roles. She is a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion, but also physical and psychological safety in the industry.

  • Paula McMahon

    Civil Engineer

    After 30+ years in engineering and construction with several high-profile positions Paula has gained Chartered Fellowships for the ICE and CMI.

    Paula works for Sir Robert McAlpine 'doing her dream job' where she helps colleagues with their professional qualifications and manages the Social Value for her project.

    Paula is passionate about inspiring the next generation and the need for a more sustainable future for all. She is an active member of several groups who promote construction and engineering.

    Amongst them is being the ICE Trustee and Panel Chair for the flagship international publication ICE Proceedings: Civil Engineering and chairing the Women's Engineering Society's Climate Emergency Group. She also sits on SRMs LGBT+ Affinity Network and Co-Chairs the Gender Equality Network.

  • Claire Crompton

    Principal Engineer

    Claire has 14 years’ experience in the construction industry and currently works as a principal design engineer at Sir Robert McAlpine, working in the Civils team of McAlpine Design Group. 

    She also co-chairs the Gender Equality Network where she works closely with other affinity networks to promote diversity and inclusion at Sir Robert McAlpine.
