The A19 project team wins the Ethos award for excellence in wellbeing, training, and community engagement.
The project team working on the A19 Tees Viaduct refurbishment project has picked up the Ethos award at the prestigious Bridges Awards.
The judges highlighted our team’s “outstanding approach to staff wellbeing” and the general health and safety on the project. They were also struck by the team’s “activities to promote engineering and encourage retainment in the sector” and the levels of collaborative working and community engagement.
The Ethos award specifically acknowledges exceptional initiatives in apprenticeship programmes, staff training, mentoring, and retention within the bridge industry.
This win reflects our dedication to creating a culture of continuous learning, professional development and working in lockstep with the local community.
The project involved extending the structural life of the viaduct, including the development of an alternative, more sustainable solution to the proposed demolition and replacement of eight piers.
Congratulations to the Sir Robert McAlpine A19 project team and Autolink Concessionaires (A19) Ltd, the Sir Robert McAlpine Capital Ventures led concession company, who together are at the forefront of delivering the A19 DBFO (Design-Build-Finance-Operate) contract, as well as our supply chain partner Concrete Repairs Limited, structural engineer AECOM, and National Highways.
