Clear strategic focus helping drive consistent performance
We are pleased to announce our financial results for the year ended 31 October 2025, reflecting another year of consistent performance and continued progress against our long-term strategy:
Profit before tax was £15.7 million in 2025 compared to £10.4 million in 2024
Cash remains strong at £141.1 million with no debt
Annual turnover was £945.7 million in 2025 compared to £940.1 million in 2024
The results underline the benefits of the business’s Evolve strategy, launched in 2023 and completed last year, which has sharpened our sector focus, strengthened leadership accountability, and brought senior decision-makers closer to clients.
The FY26 financial performance to date remains consistent with our targets, with an improved profit forecast.
Now in our 157th year, we continue to evolve to meet the changing needs of clients and the market, while remaining true to our purpose of proudly building Britain’s future heritage.
Our national, sector-focused operating model remains centred on three dominant sectors: Industrial (including Defence and Nuclear), Commercial (including Heritage and Major Projects), and Healthcare. This clarity of focus has enabled the business to better anticipate market needs, deploy specialist expertise where it adds most value, and continue to attract both long-standing and new clients.
Throughout the year, we have remained disciplined in targeting the right opportunities for long-term customers, with a strong emphasis on early contractor involvement, collaboration and operational excellence. Our reputation for delivering sustainable engineering solutions to complex construction challenges continues to be a key differentiator, supported by deep in-house capability and trusted supply chain partnerships.
Sustainability is embedded in the way we operate through our Sustainable Engineering Excellence approach, harnessing the expertise of our people and placing it at the core of everyday decision making. By empowering teams to make the right choices in design, procurement and delivery, we are focused on reducing carbon across our supply chain, advancing circular construction practices and delivering lasting social impact, while maximising value for our clients.
Neil Martin, Chief Executive Officer of Sir Robert McAlpine, said:
Since joining the business, I have been continually impressed by the depth of talent, technical excellence and collaborative spirit across Sir Robert McAlpine. Our reorganisation has strengthened leadership alignment and brought us closer to our clients, enabling us to respond more effectively to their needs. Our strategy is delivering consistent financial performance, supported by a robust pipeline and a positive cash position. With a clear focus on client value, operational excellence and sustainable engineering, I am confident we are well positioned for the years ahead.
