Preston Brook pre-school gets the royal treatment

AmeySRM, which is delivering the A533 Expressway Bridge Replacement Scheme, and Amey Area 10, which provides Maintenance and Response services across the Northwest, joined forces to help Preston Brook Pre-School throw open their doors for a right royal celebration.

AmeySRM built a new play area and donated uniforms for the pre-school staff to wear, while Amey cleared vegetation, painted railings, and donated a tree for the children to plant to mark The Queen’s 70 years on the throne. L&R Roadlines added the finishing touch, giving the carpark a fresh coat of paint.

Some of those who volunteered were invited to the event on Wednesday 25 May, and were presented with homemade cards from the children to say a big thank you for their efforts. The teams plan to return to the school to lead on a range of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and maths) activities, and talk to the children during Road Safety Week later in the year.

Pre-School Manager, Sarah Williams, said:

“The children and staff cannot thank AmeySRM, Amey and National Highways enough for their efforts in helping us prepare for our Jubilee celebration. The pre-school looks fantastic, and the children are thrilled to have a new construction play area to enjoy. Maybe, one day, some of our pupils will go on to build bridges and maintain our roads, just like the amazing people who came in to help us.”
