The built environment industry comes together to mark 30 years of Maggie’s and raise vital funds for people living with cancer
This inaugural Building Hope dinner aims to raise vital funds for Maggie’s, which, for 30 years, has been redefining what cancer care can and should be. Its network of 27 centres offers free, immediate access to expert psychological, emotional and practical support for people at every stage of cancer, as well as their family and friends.
Designed by some of the world’s most renowned architects, Maggie’s centres are located in the grounds of major NHS cancer hospitals, offering restorative and uplifting spaces where anyone affected by cancer can drop in without an appointment and receive support for as long as they need it. The charity’s centres across the UK support hundreds of thousands of people every year, helping them not just to cope, but to live well with and beyond cancer.
As Maggie’s marks its 30th year, its vision is as ambitious as it is compassionate: to ensure that everyone with cancer has access to a place like Maggie’s. With cancer diagnoses expected to rise significantly over the coming decades, Maggie’s aims to grow to 60 centres across the UK, expanding its reach so that millions more people can find support at one of life’s most difficult moments.
The Maggie’s Spring Gala Dinner is also supported by industry sponsors Clipfine, Ruddy, William Hare, and Stanhope, with every penny raised on the night going directly towards keeping Maggie’s doors open and its services free for all.
Maggie’s has been our charity partner for more than a decade. Alongside delivering many of its architecturally significant centres, we are proud to have helped raise £1.2 million to support their work to date. From construction expertise to fundraising, our partnership reflects a shared belief in the power of thoughtful design, community and compassion to change lives.
Through initiatives such as Building Hope, the built environment industry continues to play a vital role in supporting Maggie’s as it looks ahead to its next 30 years, ensuring that no one faces cancer alone.
It costs nothing to come into a Maggie’s centre, but it takes all of us to keep it that way.
It’s more than a decade since we started working with Maggie’s, as well as constructing many of its centres, we've raised more than £1,000,000 for the charity.
