The refurbishment of Intu’s Eldon Square shopping centre in Newcastle has been recognised with a Gold Award from the British Council of Shopping Centres (BCSC).
The scheme, nominated in the Refurbishment and/or Extension costing more than £5m category, was judged to have delivered a timeless design and a quality environment.
The revamp brought a number of new tenants to the centre, increasing rental income.
The refurbishment project adds to the roll call of schemes delivered by the company to have been honoured with BCSC Gold Awards. Previous winners include Hereford Old Market, Cabot Circus in Bristol, Highcross Leicester and SouthGate Bath.
