People and Culture Executive Director, Rachael Smith, recently visited Dingley’s Promise to see how our Armed Forces Community Funds awarded in December 2025 via ActionFunder are making a difference in the community.
The recently opened Tidworth centre successfully applied for a £2,000 grant from our Armed Forces Community Fund, which offered a total of £20,000 in funding to support:
Cadet organisations that inspire and develop young people through military-themed training and values
Military charities, with a particular focus on those supporting homeless veterans
Projects that promote mental health and wellbeing within the armed forces community
The donation went towards the creation of their family support outreach service, which helps families of children with SEND to navigate their child’s journey and access wider community support and information.
On her visit, Rachael was given a tour of the facilities and heard from centre staff about how the company’s donation has helped to establish the much-needed service.
Tidworth is particularly important location for the Armed Forces community, with the British Army having been stationed there for centuries, and the charity supports the many military families in the area.
Commenting on her visit, Rachael said: “It was fantastic to visit Dingley’s Promise and see our grant going to an extremely worthy cause. As a former member of our Armed Forces, I have a real passion for the Forces community, and as a Mum to two children with SEN, I appreciate how hard it is to support this as a military family who move frequently.”
“We have a vibrant community of ex-Forces personnel at the company, and we are proud to stand alongside the wider Armed Forces community, a commitment which has been recognised with a silver Armed Forces covenant award.”
The Tidworth centre’s next project is to transform their outdoor space into an inclusive, nature-based learning environment where children can grow plants, explore a forest school area, and enjoy sensory and quiet spaces that support their development and wellbeing.
