Our Marketing and Communications team are celebrating success after picking up a silver award for ‘Best Event’ at last night’s virtual Internal Communications and Engagement Awards.
The awards recognise the impact internal communications and employee engagement have on their company. All the winners represent those setting the standards for excellence in internal communications.
Last year, we brought together clients, supply chain partners, former employees, our people and their families, to celebrate our 150th anniversary. Local schools were invited to an immersive exhibition to learn more about the industry with the aim of inspiring future generations of construction professionals.
Events Manager, Laura McKinney, worked with colleagues in the Marketing and Communications team to build the exhibition and create a series of engaging activities across two locations (London and Manchester) that gathered 2,500 people over 6 days and made our 150th year memorable.
The anniversary was also an opportunity for the team to refresh the branding and launch a new website, positioning the brand as a future focused, forward thinking, modern company.
The event created a lasting legacy both in the good will and strengthened relationships borne of celebrating together, but also in a series of scale models of our construction projects, exhibition stands, a Lego mosaic, now proudly displayed in the company’s head office, a company music playlist created by staff across the company and a commemorative coffee table book showcasing the event.
This is such a fantastic achievement for the team. The events were two years in the planning and were a great way to say thank you to everybody in the business for all their hard work. Our ambition for the events was to provide guests with the wow factor and we certainly achieved that. Thank you to everyone involved!
