Sir Robert McAlpine puts Family First

As a family-owned business that has always put family values at its core, we are proud to introduce a suite of new inclusive policies to put Family First.

We know families today are as diverse as the people who make them up, so Family First is not a one-size fits all approach.

On the contrary, our new policies are designed with our people in mind, allowing them the flexibility to get the benefits that match their family’s needs.

The new policies include:

  • Gender parity when it comes to family leave. Irrespective of gender and sexual orientation, every parent is entitled to 26 weeks’ paid leave, no matter how their family grows (birth, adoption or surrogacy).

  • Parents can now benefit from enhanced family leave after just 12 months’ employment, rather than two years previously.

  • Introduction of carer leave for those with caring responsibilities.

  • Ability to request unpaid parental leave from day one, which previously only applied to those with one year’s service.

 

 

 

We aim to lead by example on inclusion, and the launch of our new Family First policy takes us one step further towards our ambition to be a flexible, family-friendly business that is the Best Place to Work.
