Sir Robert McAlpine builds on solid performance for 2022

Today sees the launch of our company business plan for the new financial year, which sets out three key areas of focus.

Our company business plan for the new financial year will help us build on 2021’s strong performance.

We will continue to focus on:

  • Delivering profitable growth
  • Building a stronger, more resilient business
  • Enhancing and maintaining a culture in which our people can thrive

Despite the adverse impact of Covid-19 in 2020, the trajectory of the business is positive, with a strong order book, 90% secured or nearly secured budget for 2022, and a healthy cash balance. Our volume of work with established clients goes from strength to strength and we will continue to build on these relationships. Whilst we continue our focus on the key sectors in which we have expertise, we will invest in strategic areas such as healthcare and civil engineering.

In order to deliver exemplary projects, excellence is at the heart of our strategy. We are undertaking a business improvement programme focussed on modernising our infrastructure to equip our people and projects with the tools, processesand systems that support Build Sure excellence and provide additional resilience.

2022 will see us continue to drive towards realising our ambition of making Sir Robert McAlpine the best place to work. This will translate into supporting our people so that they can thrive, personally and professionally, and championing causes that matter to society, such as equality, inclusion, flexible working, climate action, creating social value and aligning with the UN’s sustainable development goals.

2022 sees Sir Robert McAlpine continue Proudly Building Britain’s Future Heritage

Despite the challenges caused by Covid, our people have continued to deliver fantastic projects. We are making significant investment in new tools and technology to help us grow and build resilience and I have every confidence that our people will help us achieve our commitments for 2022. More than ever, we are determined to live by our values and ethics. As an inclusive employer, we want everyone to feel welcome and supported to reach their full potential. We also want to leave a lasting, positive legacy in society, using our expertise and passion to tackle climate change and create social value.
