Sir Robert McAlpine opened its doors during Open Doors Week 2023.
Open Doors Week is delivered by Build UK, the leading representative organisation for the UK construction industry. This initiative brings together construction companies and educational institutions to showcase the industry to young people and job seekers. This year's event ran from 13th - 18th March 2023 as 13 of our live construction sites opened the doors to provide site tours, workshops, and talks. The site visits also offered insights into the latest technologies and innovations in the industry, as well as providing opportunities to talk to current employees and ask questions about their roles.
It's an interesting talk that uncovers the breadth of knowledge and experience that goes into a major construction project, as well as the plan behind the scheme as a whole.

STEP (JV between Sir Robert McAlpine and Kajima Europe) and Trust team showed local residents around the new mental healthcare facilities, built by Sir Robert McAlpine.
1 Broadgate site opened its doors during Open Doors Week, giving exclusive behind the scenes access to visitors. Build UK Membership Coordinator, Sarah Tate saw concrete substructure work taking place during her visit as the basement is installed.
Alexander was one of many to experience an exclusive tour at 1 Broadgate with his Dad, Mark Swinbank.
A533 Expressway bridge scheme was also one of thirteen sites to open the doors for Open Doors Week 2023.
AmeySRM (JV between Amey and Sir Robert McAlpine) and National Highways welcomed the students from The Bridge School, who all want to work in the construction industry to the A533 project and gave them an exclusive behind the scenes tour.
