Sir Robert McAlpine Capital Ventures JV hotel project opens

The Maldron Hotel, Manchester is the latest project in a series of success stories for SRMCV who in a JV with Catalyst Capital successfully completed the development of a high quality 4 star hotel for Aviva Real estate and their partner the Dalata Hotel group.

The £47m 4* Hotel development is located on Charles Street and operated by Maldron Hotels, part of the Dalata Hotel Group.

The 17-storey new build comprises 278 modern rooms, a restaurant and bar, an on-site coffee shop, a fitness suite and meeting spaces.

This hotel development will serve to make a positive contribution to the on-going regeneration of Manchester City Centre by improving the built environment, optimising the use of an underutilised city centre site, creating new accessible employment opportunities, as well as supporting Manchester’s growing visitor economy.

Shane Casserly, Corporate Development Director, Dalata Hotel Group plc added:

“Dalata’s experience in working with the Sir Robert McAlpine Capital Ventures and Catalyst Capital Joint Venture has been exceptionally positive both in the conduct of the construction and development process and the high quality of the completed Maldron Hotel Manchester. We would without hesitation be very pleased to partner with them in a future development.”

Sir Robert McAlpine Capital Ventures (SRMCV) team acted as developer with a 50% stake in the Joint Venture (JV) development company alongside our partner Catalyst Capital, representing Catalyst European Property Fund 11. SRMCV was also the Development Manager providing overarching management and leadership to the scheme.

Aviva Real Estate are the scheme funder and the hotel was built by Macleer and Rushe.
