Building a virtual Maggie's

We're building a virtual Maggie's which is made up of bricks representing the number of hours of support our collective fundraising would pay for.

Having reached our £1m target for Maggie’s four years early, we continue our fundraising efforts with a new challenge that focuses on the impact that the money raised by our teams has on the lives of those Maggie’s supports.

We’ve now set ourselves a goal of funding 100,000 hours of support for Maggie’s centre visitors, which also equates to £1m in cash.

To help track our progress, we're building a virtual Maggie’s in the shape of the charity's logo.

Our virtual Maggie's is made up of bricks representing the number of hours of support our collective fundraising efforts would pay for.

Examples of bricks include:

  • £5,000 will pay for 100 hours of a Getting Started course with a support specialist for those about to embark on cancer treatment.
  • £15,000 will pay for 1,200 hours of family day sessions, where kids can get together with others to come to terms with mum or dad having cancer.

Every fundraising activity goes towards adding another brick into the virtual Maggie's Centre. Think of it as a totaliser in virtual bricks.

Since we reached our £1m milestone in May 2022, our colleagues across the business have been busy doing what we do best to raise even more funds for our charity partner, Maggie’s.

From going outrageously orange, to swinging into action on the golf course and running, hiking and cycling countless miles, our teams have already surpassed £84k in fundraising!
