Remembrance Day is a time to honour those who have served and sacrificed. For team members with military backgrounds, it’s a day of deep reflection and pride. Their stories remind us of the strength and resilience they bring to our work every day, and the meaning this day holds for them is something we all feel. Through their experiences, we gain a unique perspective on how values forged in service continue to shape our workplace and inspire us all.
A military engineering project of unprecedented size and complexity, Mulberry Harbours is perhaps our most important contribution to the war effort. We played a significant role in the construction of the temporary harbours which supported the D-Day landings in Normandy.
The extension opened on 1st April 1901 and contains a series of major viaducts, including the iconic Glenfinnan Viaduct
