Proud to support the British Paralympic Association

We’re counting down to the rescheduled Tokyo 2020 Games with ParalympicsGB athlete, David Weir.

Today marks one year to go until the postponed Tokyo Paralympics, and, as an official sponsor of the British Paralympic Association, we’re delighted to be supporting our athletes on their journey in the run up to the Games.

As a business committed to creating an inclusive workplace environment and culture, and one that values the diversity of individual talents, our partnership with ParaGB is something we’re incredibly proud of.

To celebrate one year to go, we’re starting by shining the spotlight on our friend and athletic hero David Weir, six times Paralympic champion, who we’re backing all the way to 2021.

David made his Paralympic debut at Atlanta in 1996 and is regarded as one of the most successful and celebrated para-athletes in the history of the sport. He has since gone on to win ten Paralympic medals - including those six golds.

The Arsenal fan’s (good choice of team, we built the Emirates Stadium!) crowning moment came on home soil at London 2012, where he powered through a gruelling schedule of seven races in 10 days to win four gold medals.

David took some time out of his busy training schedule before lockdown to record this message.

#ImpossibleToIgnore

  • Our partnership with ParalympicsGB

We've been a partner of ParalympicsGB since 2019, and we’re extremely proud of it. Supporting the most inspirational team of athletes in the UK all the way to the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games reflects both our passion for inclusion and our constant pursuit of excellence.

Introducing David Weir

Hi, I'm David Weir. Six times Paralympic Champion.
I want to say a massive thank you to Sir Robert McAlpine
for supporting the British Paralympics Association.
To have a big brand like Sir Robert McAlpine is massive for us.
It just shows the appreciation we get for the hard work that we've put in over the years.
When you're driving past and you see yourself on the side of a bus and then
you see big companies sponsoring you and sponsoring the Paralympics GB, it just shows you
since 2012 big companies want to help us to deliver at the highest stage and it
seems like it's just growing and growing and growing.
It's great for the future for the younger generation.
I'm excited that you're joining us with our journey to Tokyo,
and I'll keep you updated with my progress.
