Launching the Armed Forces Community Fund

We are proud to stand behind the armed forces community with the Sir Robert McAlpine Armed Forces Community Fund 2025

As part of our long-standing commitment to supporting those who serve or have served, we are launching the Sir Robert McAlpine Armed Forces Community Fund via ActionFunder to provide targeted support to organisations making a real difference.

We are offering a total of £20,000 in funding, with individual grants between £2,500 and £5,000, to support:

  • Cadet organisations that inspire and develop young people through military-themed training and values
  • Military charities, with a particular focus on those supporting homeless veterans
  • Projects that promote mental health and wellbeing

We welcome applications from UK-based organisations working with or within the Armed Forces community, including registered military charities, cadet organisations and not-for-profit organisations supporting veterans.

Whether you're delivering frontline support, running outreach initiatives or offering preventative mental health services, we want to help you make a lasting impact.

Applications close on Friday 21st November 2025 and can be made via ActionFunder

Since partnering with ActionFunder in 2021, we’ve funded 161 projects supporting more than 132,000 people with a total of nearly £400,000 distributed.

The Sir Robert McAlpine Armed Forces Community Fund furthers our support for the armed forces community, which was formally recognised with a Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Silver Award from the Ministry of Defence earlier this year.
