Highways Heroes Awards 2025

The Awards recognise individuals who have coped admirably in the face of adversity

Eleven nominated for National Highways-backed Highways Heroes Awards

No fewer than eleven of our Transport sector team have been nominated for a Highways Heroes Award.

These awards recognise people who have gone above and beyond their duty to help, assist or support an individual or team, either in their own team or within the wider community in which they work.

Our nominations come from across two projects: the M6 ROM team, who are responsible for the operation and maintenance of the M6 from Millbank to Carlisle; and the A19 DBFO team, led by Sir Robert McAlpine Capital Ventures.

The nominees from each team are:

  • M6 ROM: Grant Gilliard, Cameron Irvine and Kevin Byers
  • A19 DBFO: Lee Collings, Ros Pluck, Alan Cooper Snr, Andrew Walker, Andy Sinclair, Ronnie Goundry, Mick Citro and Sean McAndrew

The nominations take on varying themes, from showing unwavering support to a colleague during mental ill health to being a compassionate team leader.

Vip Gandhi, Managing Director, Transport said: “The breadth of nominations across all areas of our teams speaks to the culture within our transport projects. We all recognise the importance of delivering our work safely and looking out for each other.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony on Wednesday 26th November at London Hilton Park Lane.
