Producing a work experience programme for neurodiverse students.

We are delighted that our very own Laura Regan, Community Manager, will be hosting a webinar to discuss her experience of running a six-week work experience programme, developed for neurodiverse students.

How a Neurodiverse workforce can enhance your business

Don't miss this free webinar hosted by London Neurodiversity SEND* Employer Network. The session will cover how to put a six-week work experience programme together that is aimed at Neurodiverse students. *Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

Our Community Manager, Laura Regan, will be hosting the event and discussing Sir Robert McAlpine's experience with The St Mary Magdalene Academy.

Laura launched a work experience programme for neurodiverse students with local SEND school, the Courtyard, in 2020 and this has gone from strength to strength. Laura hopes to work with more SEND schools in the future to continue to support a more diverse and inclusive construction industry.

Increasing diversity within the construction industry is so important as it can enable teams to see the same problem from different perspectives and approach it from a different angle – and therefore be more productive. Part of this is increasing neurodiversity within the workforce, in construction and beyond.

    Community Manager

Laura has worked as a Community Manager for Sir Robert McAlpine for five years. With a qualification in Education and Training, Laura specialises in working with local schools and colleges to provide an oversight of the construction industry and encourage more young people to join the industry.

Neurodiverse team members can be a real asset to a workforce and providing work experience opportunities with SEND schools can really boost their opportunities in the future. I’m aiming to use my experience to support other employers to host work experience programmes aimed at neurodiverse students to continue to drive forward diversity and inclusion across workforces in the UK.
