QTMA Software

QTMA Software

All software listed here is for MacOS and QuickTime 2.5. Click the software name to download it.
The following software is absolutely not supported officially by Apple or anyone, yet. It is provided here as a courtesy to brave QTMA fans who wish to push the envelope a bit. It is not even versioned; if you install the synthesizer components, remember that you may have to remove them for some later version of QuickTime or system software or more official versions of the drivers. Nonetheless, I welcome feedback on your experiences using these.

  • QTMA Configuration
A more advanced configuration utility, which is a superset of the control panel's functionality. This is a preliminary version; the user interface is definitely not up to snuff yet.

  • QTMA Views
Lets you look inside the QuickTime Music Architecture and see which instruments have been used, what MIDI channels and patch numbers they've been assigned, and so forth.

  • QwertyTunes
Lets you play MIDI devices, using either the MIDI Manager or OMS, from the computer alphanumeric keyboard. Each key may be assigned any pitch and velocity. (Has nothing to do with QTMA, actually, but is often useful in debugging your MIDI setup.)

  • Oberheim Matrix 1000 synthesizer component

  • Yamaha FB-01 synthesizer component

  • Morningstar Solutions "MacWaveMaker" nubus synthesizer component

  • Yamaha TG100 synthesizer component

  • Roland CM-500 synthesizer component
(This should be compatible with other Roland Sound Canvas and GS synthesizers.)

  • Roland MT-32 synthesizer component

  • Generic MIDI synthesizer component
